The Fall of Summer

Unreasonable Change Global warming might not refer to the weather.   Temperatures may rise across the globe while things get frosty at every turn.   Sometimes, the heat is more about how we feel than what the thermometer indicates.   Will we cool our heels or reach ignition point?   The way to cool down is to burn out first.

Lost in Reality

Perspective as prologue How do we come up with these things?   We do not; they come up with us.   Our thinking is a response to our living, an abstraction of existence.   The realization is genuine, but its outcome is fabrication.   We respond to our results as though they were real, which is both a miracle and a hubris.   Why?   Because that is what we think.

Cutting the Link

Nothing in moderation When the tie that binds becomes the fuse that ignites, the result is explosive.   The fire that burns also blinds, and we lose sight of ourselves.   In nature, the fires clear ground for new growth.   Perhaps, it is just doing what comes natural, proving we are no different than all that has come and gone before us.

The Cause of Causality

Why is not enough. We need to know something, but it usually boils down not why, but to whom.   The thought that even the worst of things must somehow be a part of the grand human scheme of things seems essential to our being.   Even our gods are just humans with special powers.   Our environment a cacophony of personification, we equate causality with “be‘cause somebody did it.”   Everything from our pets to our natural disasters has human names. How may we see beyond ourselves if we only see everything in terms of ourselves?
