Robbed of Youth

We all have a right to be young, to be innocent, to see the world with wonder and awe, to live like we will never suffer or die.  Senescence is never promised, but childhood should be guaranteed.

But it is not.

Some never see the light of day, and some say it should be that way.  Some suffer from the day they are born, and some say greatness emerges from the forlorn.  Some are raised to seize the day, and some say we need them that way.  Some are never allowed to cry, and some say they should never ask why.  But some make it through with youthfulness preserved, and they share something with everyone we well deserve
