Clinging to the Past
Uncertainty is like a body of water. If it is small, one can easily navigate it. At some point, it becomes so vast that it swallows up all senses of direction. In moments such as those, we cling to what we know, which often leads us into circles like the descent into a whirlpool. It is almost an orchestrated suicide, following those closest to the end into the abyss.
The only solution may be to scatter, to head in many directions led by those who will have the vision and the longetivy to make the unknown journey rather than follow one whose journey is close to the end, It is better for some to find their way that to have everyone disappear.
